Dream

I am a native of Arizona and I grew up in the southwest on a small ranch. My childhood experiences have given me what I call a desert aesthetic. This limits my choices in special ways and causes me to choose subtle earth colors, simple forms and to focus heavily on texture and material.

I choose to work with clay and metal and tend to be minimal when it comes to adding embellishments. My work has a strong figurative focus because I have always enjoyed the company of other people and have been fascinated by how they interact with each other. I try to distill the human form down only using the elements that I feel relate to my statement. Then I encourage viewers to relate my work to themselves and to add their own personal dialog and narrative to the work. Sculptor When I was a small child I walked out into a field and came back with a large piece of metal. I also ate a lot of coins when I was growing up because I loved the taste of metal
